Radar and Controlled Missiles
CIOS Intelligence Report. I-1. HMSO [and] Combined [British/US] Intelligence Objectives Sub-Committee (CIOS). August 1944.
** WW2 intelligence report on German research and development in the Paris area in radar and other electronic functions for guided missiles.
CIOS 'Black List of targets for urgent investigation' category: Radar
Duplicated typewritten report in English, 10 x 7.5 inches, 25 x 19 cms. 63 pages, 2 illustrations. Original thin card wrappers.
A very clean example although roughly opened in the past leaving a 5 cm tear on the top cover and the covers nearly detached from the report.
Visits to some 30 or so named establishments in the Paris area took place immediately following the liberation of Paris in August 1944 - this file (No. I-1) is the first of all the Combined Intelligence (CIOS) reports.
The damaged spine is now fully protected in a modern clear loose archival jacket and spine strengthener although a new owner might wish to consider having the report sympathetically recased in its covers by a book restorer.
The defective spine is, of course, regrettable and the report has been greatly reduced in price accordingly. However, this report appears for sale so infrequently that it could be years before another turns up in any condition.
