A visit was made in June 1944 by S/Ldr F.E. Pickles, attached to MAAF (Mediterranean Allied Forces) Intelligence to investigate the original Campini prototype aircraft captured at Guidonia Aerodrome, North-East of Rome.
This major report was then issued in late 1944 by the then newly-established Combined Intelligence Objectives Sub-Committee.
