German small-scale street plans of British towns and cities
Each item below is an original double-sided street plan of towns or cities in the UK printed in the early 1940s by the German Department for War Maps ... (Abteilung für Kriegskarten und Vermessungswesen).
They were prepared For Official Use Only! (Nur für den Dienstgebrauch!) for military staff in Berlin for (Operation Sealion), their intended invasion of Britain at the beginning of WW2 and for any subsequent military operation.
These original German wartime town plans have great historical significance as surviving remnants of World War Two German invasion material and as difficult-to-find items of local history for the areas of the UK involved.
